The Appalachian Mountain Club's lodge at the head of Crawford Notch on Route 302, opened in 2003 and designed to resemble the old Crawford House hotel. It has 37 rooms, from private rooms with their own baths to shared-bath rooms for two to six people, plus bunks in the Shapleigh Bunkhouse. Guided hikes and naturalist programs start from the lodge.
