Eagle Mountain House

A 96-room resort on a ridge above Jackson Village, operating since 1879, when the Gale family first opened their farmhouse to twelve summer guests. The building grew around that farmhouse, and its 280-foot wraparound veranda and a 1926 hydroelectric elevator, now on display, are original. A 9-hole golf course sits on the inn's former pastures. It is a member of Historic Hotels of America. Jackson's covered bridge, cross-country ski network and Black Mountain are all close by.
