The summer estate of carpet manufacturer Erastus Bigelow, built in 1872 on 33 private acres a mile north of North Conway. Its English-manor interiors (oak woodwork, leaded-glass windows, beamed ceilings and carved detailing) date from an 1895 redesign by Bigelow's daughter, Helen Bigelow Merriman. There are 26 rooms, 7 with wood-burning fireplaces and 12 with Jacuzzi tubs. The Library Martini Lounge has a fieldstone fireplace and carved paneling.
